K.P. grew up in Northern New Mexico (red or Christmas IYKYK) where she found her love of story through the tales her cousins tortured her with like those of a crying woman who lurks the arroyos at night, or creatures who steal bad children in their sleep.

Fast forward to her awkward teen years, she delved deep into the worlds of Martin and the like while her friends played sports and engaged with the outside world.

She started college with her mind set on business even as writing pulled at her heart strings. It eventually won out, and she graduated with her degree in English with a focus in Creative writing.

As a Hispanic woman of blended ethnicities, K. P. strives for her prose to represent the diverse home and community she grew up in, and to forever explore that question that burns inside anyone who’s ever felt of two worlds; where do I fit in?

K.P. lives with her husband, their three girls, and two bernedoodles; Pablo and Sancha. Whenever she’s not reading or chronically avoiding the dreaded blank page, you can find her sucking it up on the mats in jiu-jitsu, playing video games, or having a snack-filled movie night with her family.
